I’m OBSESSED with maraschino cherries. I can eat an entire, HUGE jar of them in one setting… and I have! Seriously, this size! (I may have a problem...) So, this recipe was a natural creation for me. It is also one of my absolute favorites!!!
How to Make Cherry Chocolate Chip Cookies
The recipe is incredibly EASY, fast, and budget-friendly. It is similar to my Chocolate Chip Cookie one. Both recipes only include brown sugar. You can find out more about why and the tasty effects here.
These Cherry Chocolate Chip Cookies are DELICIOUS. They are also INCREDIBLY soft. SO soft. AND fluffy. I was pleasantly surprised by the texture and immediately wanted more.
I was also intrigued and wanted to know how I did it. So, I did some research. I read that the cherry juice was the culprit! I only added 1/2 teaspoon of cherry juice from the jar, but it was enough to change the texture… in a completely positive, amazing way.
These seriously are the best cookies!

Ingredients for Cherry Chocolate Chip Cookies
1 1/4 cups flour
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup melted butter
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp maraschino cherry juice (from the jar)
1/4 cup maraschino cherries, chopped
1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and brown sugar. Add in the egg, vanilla extract, and cherry juice. Beat well.
- Mix in the flour and baking soda.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped maraschino cherries.
- Drop teaspoon-sized balls of dough on a cookie sheet.
- Bake for 9-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly browned.
