If you’re all about coffee, a lover of real strawberries, or just someone who wants their caffeine in a unique, refreshing, and fruity way, you NEED to try this easy recipe.

An iced strawberry latte is a delicious drink with beautiful, distinct layers of fresh strawberry puree, ice cubes, any kind of milk, and espresso.

If you don’t have an espresso machine, no worries! You can use strongly brewed coffee instead of espresso shots.

It’s the perfect drink to boost energy levels on a hot day.

Does a Strawberry Latte have Coffee?

Yes, a strawberry latte usually includes espresso. But, this recipe can also be made with brewed coffee, cold brew coffee, cold coffee, or instant coffee (including this iced instant coffee recipe).

Please see the section “Strong Espresso Coffee” below for more details.

If you’re looking for an iced tea version of this iced latte, I recommend checking out this Matcha Strawberry Latte Recipe.

It is another amazing drink that it made with matcha powder instead of coffee.

Simple Ingredients

This refreshing drink is easily and quickly made with five simple ingredients - fresh strawberries, granulated sugar, ice cubes, your favorite milk, and espresso (or strong coffee).

Homemade Strawberry Syrup

Bright red, juicy, and chunky homemade strawberry sauce is added to a tall drinking glass.

Strawberry sauce is the key ingredient in this delicious recipe.

It is responsible for the unique flavor and fruity taste.

The easiest and fastest way to make a strawberry latte at home is to make a strawberry puree with about four strawberries (chopped) and two teaspoons of sugar.

This is the same way I make this Strawberry Matcha Latte Recipe, which is another popular drink.

This homemade strawberry puree doesn’t require any special equipment, saucepan, or even cooking.

Simple mash the chopped strawberries and sugar together, in a small bowl, with a fork.

A silver fork mashes red, chopped strawberries and granulated sugar in a small, white bowl.
Bright red, juicy, homemade strawberry sauce (with some strawberry pieces) in a small, white, square-shaped bowl.

This can also be done with a sugar substitute, like maple syrup or stevia.

Ice Cubes

Lots of ice cubes in a refreshing strawberry latte, surrounded by bright red, fresh strawberries and whole coffee beans.

Adding ice is optional, of course.

BUT, if you would like pretty layers in your strawberry latte, I recommend adding the ice on top of the strawberry mixture.

Then pouring the milk onto the ice. (The espresso/coffee layer comes last.)

This helps to prevent the strawberry puree and milk from combining and turning into a chunky, homemade strawberry milk.

Milk of Choice

Creamy, white milk is poured on top of ice and homemade strawberry sauce in this easy strawberry latte recipe.

No iced latte would be complete without creamy milk.

I recommend using your favorite milk.

Non-dairy milks, especially oat milk, almond milk, and soy milk work well in this strawberry latte recipe.

I don’t like coconut milk, so I’ve never tried it with that.

I personally like to make this strawberry latte with nonfat milk or oat milk.

Oat milk always adds a creamy texture, which I love.

For a coffee-based drink with less calories, I always recommend using unsweetened almond milk. Unfortunately, it’s not as creamy as whole milk, oat milk, or other alternatives.

Strong Espresso Coffee

Brown espresso coffee is poured into the strawberry latte, mixing with the white milk to create beautiful swirls in this strawberry latte drink.

Lattes are usually made with espresso.

BUT, I understand that not everyone has a fancy espresso machine at home, so this strawberry latte recipe can be made with strong brewed coffee instead of espresso shots.

The easiest type of coffee to use is instant coffee. Add about two teaspoons to ½ cup of hot water. BAM. Strong coffee.

My only recommendation is to let any hot coffee cool before adding it to your strawberry latte.

I brew it first then place it in the fridge to cool while I prepare the rest of the drink.

I have also made this recipe with this Starbucks Iced Coffee (unsweetened) from the grocery store or Cold Brew Coffee (recipe coming soon).

They make this recipe even easier and quicker.

Can I make this drink ahead of time?

For best results, make this strawberry latte right before consuming.

Otherwise, the strawberry mixture becomes soggy and a bit gross.

The strawberry flavor also starts to take over the drink in an unpleasant way.

I definitely don’t recommend making it ahead. But, if you do, please store it in an airtight container in the fridge and strain out the strawberry puree before drinking.
